So I'm not the most tech savy person in the world, but I can follow directions well enough to build and maintain my pc's health.
My typical Idle temps when idle were 27/28c. That's pretty good from what I know. My temps under heavy load while gaming were around 55c, also pretty good.
Today i went into my ASUS Fan Xpert3 to label all my fans and where they are. When i selected my CPU cooling fan (H100i by corsair) I noticed the "smart mode"and "RPM fix mode". Prior to this I have never selected the RPM fix mode and let smart mode be smart. Today I selected fixed RPM and put it max just to test for about 5 seconds only. I heard a slurp type sound come from the cooler. The LED corsair light switched to white and even went off. I switched it back to smart mode promptly as I wasn't exactly sure what was going on there. I restarted and let my idle temps regulate and now I'm sitting at a 40c idle temp. That's a pretty significant jump for no apparent reason.
I'm also not overclocked on my cpu. Sitting at stock 4.0
Any system specs that would help figure out a solution I'll gladly add.
