Hi,

So I just installed my new motherboard and h110igtx, I was using Prime95 to check the temps under load and I don't know what temps to trust, I get HwInfo jumping from 23 odd degrees idle to 80 - 100 degrees in a second, Ai Suite 3 says its about 68 degrees, and corsair link shows that h110igtx temp is 34 degrees under load, but Corsair Links cpu temps is again jumping from 23 idle to 80 +. Also, CPU-Z and Ai suite 3 shows different cpu voltages altogether, CPUz shows 1.3xx volts and Ai Suite shows 1.4xx volts?. The cpu is running at 4.1ghz. I've checked to see if the cooler is fitted properly and I'm certain it is, I've wiggled it around and its tightly fitted (All 4 screws are as tight as they can physically go), and the fans are blowing the right way through the radiator. And there is more than enough airflow in my case, I have 8 fans.

So my question(s) is: What temps do I trust? And if the temps showing 80+ degrees are accurate, why the hell is it that hot? And why does HwInfo show the cpu jump from 23 to 80 + in a split second, it doesn't even gradually get hotter, it just jumps up instantly. Is it worth my taking off the cpu block, and reapply the thermal paste with my own instead of using the pre-applied paste it came with?

Please don't hate about why I didn't go with a air cooler :)

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Mid-70s and low 80s are to be expected for peaks, you should not be seeing 100C.

I've found CoreTemp to be quite reliable, also Hardware Monitor. Not the best test ever, but check the BIOS' temps, if they look similar to one of your tools at idle, I would go with that one.

Corsair Link has been the most useless thing several times for me. Always breaking with Windows updates, etc. And features don't always work.

If you can feel the heat coming out of the radiator under load, it is likely working properly. No guarantee with Corsair coolers that the screws all the way down is actually enough clamping force. I had to add washers between the motherboard and backplate on my h80i. Dropped temps ten degrees.
