6770 HD PSU Support?

Hey guys,

I am planning to buy a Sapphire 6770 HD 1GB DDR5 Graphics card to play new games.
But I'm unsure whether it would work with my current specs.
I am particularly worried about the PSU and Mobo.
Please offer me advice on this .

CPU: Intel Pentium Dual Core E6600 3Ghz
RAM: 4GB DDR3
MOBO: Gigabyte GA-G41M-COMBO
PSU : Chirag 450W

Your mobo is fine. 450W can be enough for your build with 6770. I don't know everything about your PSU. 450W should be fine.

The Chirag PSU is a stock PSU which came with my Chirag cabinet.
So would that be an efficient PSU?

well in theory it should but as im concerned is not only the wattage of a psu that is important, you need enough amp at 12v rail and a good protection like active pfc and all that stuff, about chirag i don´t know that brand, have you ever think getting a good psu that will grant you a better sleep and make your pc more upgradable?

Your CPU will NOT bottleneck a 6770. Not even close. A 6770 is just a rebadged 5770.

i have 6770 and a duel core k10 cpu at 3.2ghz and my cpu always maxed out to 100% and 6770 remains below 50% in all games that i have (mw2,mw3,bo,l4d,gta4,jc2 etc)

have you checked the rating of your psu at 12v rail?

the psu is not that good, get a 80+ rating psu

(i think you are from India, if so then cooler master is good but expensive in India)

So will it work fine with my current mobo and stock psu?

6670 is good for that cpu and will work with that psu

but need your total budget and revision of board, and your cpu is 25% better than mine and thus you can also consider 6770 but psu rating is required

Dunno how to find the ratings as I am a noob when it comes to computers. But I hope this would help:

Can my PSU run 6770 or only 6670?
Dont want to spend extra for PSU.
So want to know the best GPU to work well with my PSU...........

hey why just you go for gtx 560 ti or 6870 they both are good enough to play latest games on it don't buy 6770 because it bit slower than ati 5770

due to weak psu the only choice is 6670 which half of 6790

or if you can wait then you can have 7670 which will provide more performance per watt and dx11.1 and other new feature
