6770 power requirements

I've just bought a used Lenovo Thinkcentre M57 6075-F2g: specs are as follows:
• Intel Pentium Dual Core, E2200, 2.2 GHz
• 160GB Sata hard-drive
• 1GB DDR2 RAM
I aim to up the ram to 3GB, and add an ATI 6770. The problem is that it only has a 280 watt PSU. I just want a cheap gaming rig, I really wanna play Shogun 2!

PSU: +12v/18A, -12v/0.3A, +3.3v/16.7A
+ 5v/16A, +5VSB/2.5A


Am I good? the alternative is an ATI 6670. Any help is appreciated

Does that 280 Watt power supply have at least one 6-pin PCI Express supplementary power connector? If it doesn't then you can't use a Radeon HD 6770.

A Radeon HD 6670 or Radeon HD 6570 is a possibility.

While the 6770 is a low power card(under 100W) it requires a 6pin pcie connector and a minimum quality 400W psu imo.

no dedicated 6 pin power supply . Its a shame because the 6770 is only £8.00 more than a GDDR5 6670. Oh, well medium settings it is!
By the way , what do you think the OCing potential is for a lenovo q35 board is? I know the core 2 duo to OC well, but the e2200 is 65nm part.

OEM version BIOS' tend to be locked down so that it prevents overclocking.

They don't want to have to deal with customers making their systems inoperable because of some BIOS setting change.
