680 SLI possible?

Im currently running a single EVGA 680 2gb, its great visuals and all but the FPS can take a serious hit once dx11 is applied, as wells as Skyrim graphics mods brings it down to only 30-40FPS. 1080p

Will a second card greatly increase my FPS, or even increase the visuals?
Also, i only have a Corsair HX 750 watt PSU- i just bought it a month ago off Newegg so that sure would be a waste.... reccomendations on that?

That is a great PSU for SLI and it will increase your FPS massively.

I run 3D at higher fps than that with 2 680s. What kind of CPU do you have? Skyrim is more CPU-dependent than most:

Yes you should be able to SLI another 680 no sweat. Question is what CPU and Ram do you have. Although Skirim is a very gpu centered game if you have a slower cpu you might not get the full value out of a second card.

In HardwareInfo's testing, @ 1920 x 1080 (High Setting, 4AA) it garnered 120.1 fps with a single 680 to 219 fps w/ two 680's in SLI. As for the power requirement ... here's what nVidia says:

550 WMinimum System Power Requirement - 550W

550 + 195 = 745 watts ... so at lears as far as Nvidia's concerned you're OK. If OC'ing the cards and the CPU, I'd want 9.5 jonnyguru rated or better 850 watter. The HX series is 10.0 rated except for the 1000 and 1050 watt models so you have a giid one there,

If he's only getting 40fps on a 680 at 1080p something is probably wrong, that SLI will not help.

OP what is your CPU, and is your GPU operating at the correct clocks/temps and at 100% usage

Not necessarily. That's what I get with enb so it's not that bad depending on his mods.
