Hello,

I am planning on buying a new SSD and Graphics Card(s) to finalize my current gaming rig. But, I'm having some difficulty deciding between what card(s) to get.

Here is my current rig:
AsRock Z68 Extreme4 Gen3 Mobo
Intel Core i7 2600K (stock speeds)
16GB DDR3 1600MHz RAM
120GB SSD
2TB Sata HDD
2x XFX 6790 CrossFire
850W PSU

The choice of cards was due to my purchasing all the computer parts at once in store (Micro Center), where there wasn't much option at the time.

Since I've been an AMD/ATI person in my years, I decided to switch over to nVidia to see how things were doing there.

I'm looking to finally get triple monitor gaming underway at good rates (at least 50-60 fps) on high/highest settings. Currently, I use two monitors for windowed games (LoL, Minecraft, etc) and web browsing, and single full screen for the more important games (BF3, Dead Space 3, Guild Wars, Crysis, Witcher)

With that in mind, I'm looking into the following combinations:
- 680 SLI (EVGA 04G-P4-3687-KR GeForce GTX 680 FTW+ w/Backplate 4GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Support Video Card
- 690 (EVGA 04G-P4-2690-KR GeForce GTX 690 4GB 512-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Support Video Card
- GTX Titan when it comes out
- 690 or Titan SLI

I'm looking to future proof my computer for at least a few years, so I'm not too concerned on spending some money now. Of course, money is limited, so I am looking to spend a max of probably $2000 for the cards. The 690 sli would probably not work unless I spent more on a new PSU.

Edit: The reason I was looking into the Titan / Titan SLI was due to the 6GB of memory.

Any tips? Thank you.

I would say that with multi monitor support that AMD has the stronger solution. If you don't care about 3D, you don't really do any 3D rendering/editing, or you don't play with physx turned on in games then I would go with something like a 7970 or 7970 ghz edition card.

Future proofing does not exist and its very hard to predict where things will go however getting the higher end cards normally insures that over time your card will still obtain value and will still be a strong performer. If you were going to go with a 3 monitor setup I would stick with AMD eyefinity. Because none of the games you listed you play use the feature set that Nvidia has with the exception of nvidia surround 4 displays and 3D.

For multimonitor AMD wins hands down, not to mention the 7970GHz at stock is actually faster than a GTX680(Even faster with OC)

however for any kind of 3D or Adobe work Nvidia wins hands down. Depends on what kind of multimonitor you want to do.

The GTX680 is a hell better than the 7970...

From what I see at TechpowerUp , GTX Titan will have no rival from next gen either (at least from a single gpu). The true upgrade will come at Mar 2014 where the GM100 powered GTX880 will be released.
