To say that overclocking will give a certain increase in performance in also wrong. You say your card did this...cool. That was your card.

5, 10 20mhz will not give much performance increase. To say, again not saying you have said it, but to say to buy XYZ card and just overclock it to PDQ performance is wrong, and irresponsible, because it is never a sure thing.

When suggesting to overclock one should of course lay out the possibility that it is luck of the draw, and also suggest that is not for the beginner. Overclocking is never, ever, ever, a sure thing. I think I said that. And, BTW, I have worked in semiconductor fabs. I know what goes on. If one batch (lot) of parts if good it doesn't mean the next lot will not be burned, to use the cake analogy. Each lot is different, and a burned lot might very well run at spec but will do nothing more. They will still sell the burnt lot. Trust me.

I agree here. I would rather put the xtra cash in, and NOT overclock... just to be safe...

i mean it works, ive seen it work, but.... you never know.

Ok I am near ready to make a purchase.

I've decided between these:

The X800 GTO

X850 Pro

and 6800 GS

Or 6800 GS

Now, since I have a pretty crappy machine, these are all going to make a similar difference on my machine!

So - does anyone have any ideas on anything that comes with a BUNDLE??? I mean, if I could get a game or something with it, all the better!

Also, any pros or cons on any of these?

just go to newegg and look for bundles... the x850pro is pretty much an overclocker x800pro, 12 pipes, its only overclocked a little so an x800pro, if its cheaper, will offer very similar perforamnce. the x800gto or 6800gs are ur best bet, theyll offer best perforamcne, but they also cost around 200... its ur choice, if u dun wanna spend all ur 250 id say get the x850 or x800, i think the x850 is at compusa for 179, newegg doesnt sell it on agp i dun thin..
