Question 6800k CPU

I have a 5820K, I'd like to replace it with a 6800K.. The reason being, is it is the last CPU that will fit on the X99S krait edition motherboard, how well do you think it will play today's games... considering the rest of the system will be running on 3200 ddr4 ram 16 GB, and a 980 gtx by evga. Also can you think of any other tips short of buying a new system...????

It'll perform just as well as your current cpu.
-both are hyperthreaded hexa cores
-they have pretty much identical boost clocks

Yeah.
Upgrade your gpu to something like a 2070 Super or RX 5700XT.
Perhaps consider moving up to a 1440p monitor, if you haven't done so already.

you my friend are better getting a newer GPU if you really really want to drop the cash. you will see better FPS at 1440p, at 1080p not so much.
your CPU is good enough and will remain good for next couple of years, will 6800k will be better ? yes, of course but its not something worth getting tbh.

for ram, i mean its intel!!, ram speeds really dont matter with them if you have a okey speed ram intel build is fine with them.
