6850k Overclock (Asus rampage v ed 10)

I can get my 6850k to boot at 4.5ghz @ 1.39v. the hottest it gets at torture tests via prime95 after 3 hours is around 73c (too hot?). If i preform a restart, the bios comes up and won't let me load into windows again until i wipe the bios settings and re-overclock again. This is my first overclock, Is there something i'm missing?

Hey Noctilius,

I have a slightly older edition of the Rampage V Extreme. Assuming your motherboard has this feature, are you using the built in overclock setting that auto overclocks to 4.5GHz automatically? If you aren't and your motherboard has this feature, I would recommend using it as it will be best optimized. If it doesn't have it, make sure to do some research on overclocking as it is important to have a good understanding of what you are messing with. It sounds to me like something in the overclock isn't stable, and as a result, the computer isn't booting properly.
