i have a strange experience with my computer that i would like to share

CPU : INTEL P-III 750 * 1
MB : TYAN TIGER 230 (it is a dual cpu board)
RAM : kingstone 256mb pc - 150 CLK 3
VIDEO : ELSA GLADIA MX

what i have encounter is my win2000 server is not stable......
there is no way i can make it as stable as other server

i have checked out a lot of articles concerning VIA 686B and AGP problems
i have also read through the FAQ in http://www.geforcefaq.com/ and some other local website and forum...
i have also change my IDE HDD to SCSI HDD.
change my OS to WINDOWS XP PROFESSIONAL 120DAYS TRAIL VERSION
change my OS to REDHAT LINUX 7.2
change my hardware except the CPU and MB.
change my BIOS SETTING ONE BY ONE
change my drivers from old version to new version
(i bought this computer half year ago....)

still it is not stable.
the problem is after running for sometimes the system just freeze.... or lockup....
i can not move my mouse nor can i type. also the NIC is not responding. (os crashed...)
i found no erroe message in EVENT LOG.

i am still working hard on making this system stable.......

This is the type of problem that normally affects VIA chipsets and the reason I gave up on my last AMD system (this was before the MAGiK and SiS735 hit the market).

But it could also be heat or voltage. If your using an Antec PS, ditch it, none of mine were ever stable (the voltage would bounce around and cause a lockup).

It could be heat. What's the temp?

Finally, it could be one of the many minor incompatabilities that "POP UP" occasionally on VIA chipsets, so you should try uninstalling all your cards except Video and see if it makes it stable.

I would normally recommend the Asus P2B-DS, but it's pricey!

What's the frequency, Kenneth?
