Hey there guys I have a question about upgrading my GPU. I allready own a 6870 and im considering to get another 6870 for a 100€ instead of selling this one for 100€ and getting a 7870 for 220€. What do you suggest should I get the 7870 or the 6870.

Im woried about the noise levels if I will own 2x 6870 instead of 1x 7870. Also would you know how higher would the power consumption be?

i'd get the 7870... lower power requirement that translate to lower heat (unless you would like to function your cpu as a heater, then get the 6870x2)

yes, but does anybody know how much noise would it generate? I have a Corsair 750W PSU so thats not a problem.

I've checked a few benchmarks and reviews and all of them said the noise levels for 6870 were very low, even on max load. Only a 1-3 dba more noise compared to normal 6870.

Now Im only worried about the microsluttering, its been said that the 6800 series is a great Crossfire combination to go to but I still dont know in what im getting. Can anyone explain who has 2 cards in either SLI or Crossfire

One of my friends crossfired his 6870's and long story short, you run into more problems than with a single card setup. First he had to order a longer bridge connector cause the one they give you are always too short. Then there are crossfire settings for every different game that you change in catalyst. And i would not say the 6870 is a quiet card either it can get loud. I would choose the 7870.

Aha, so does anybody else has his story? I mean I will really generate more power if I get another 6870 compared to price if I get an 7870. Any good stories :)

Im still looking over the internet for possible solutions, guys help! 2x 6870 or a new single AMD card for 250$?
