Hey,

I'm looking to get eyefinity and have been looking around at different cards i have around a £200 budget and have found 6870 and 6950 to be suitable. Would the 2GB Ram on the 6950 help out massively at 5040x1050? Or is it not worth the extra cash? I'm not looking to max out games, just play the latest games with eyefinity.

Thanks.

Yes!

In fact the only time you really need more than ~ 1GB of VRAM is when you are displaying high resolutions.

When using lower resolutions (1920x1080) the RAM is fast enough to refresh faster than memory fills up, so you don't get any bottleneck.

When you move up into high resolutions such as 3 monitors wide, you have a whooooole lot more information that has to be processed and held in memory, and your card will be processing faster than your RAM can refresh.

So, yes, running games on multiple monitors you need as much memory as possible.

Ah ok, Thanks! With active DP to Dvi do you only need the USB for dvi dual or something? as i have seen some adapters with people claiming it works for Dvi single
