Upgrading my sons pc. Tranfered all components from old to mew cas. Added h60 water cooler. Had an i3 3220 3rd gen. Cpu, ipgraded to am 3570k cpu 3rd gen, but didnt take. Put i3 back in worked fine. Question is" which or if i5 is compatible?" Hp i found to be difficult to navigate and tried to make an account to ask but to my frustration they wouldnt take my email...help a p.o'ed dad

From where did you get the i5? Also, are you running the latest BIOS for your system?

I didnt see the 3570k on the list. I bought the cpu used from Adonis (local refurbishe and was tested)
I did not do anything to the bios, not sure how either

You go to the HP website for your model system and you'll find any available BIOS updates. The CPU is listed as compatible. They list as:
