6990 or 7850 for my Phenom II 955

I am having a tough time deciding. Wouldn't mind some input and even other cards suggested. I am also curious if the cpu would bottle neck with R9 series. Keep in mind I don't plan on overclocking more than 3.8 on my cpu. thanks guys

I would suggest the 7850 2GB, can be had for $110 after MIR (Newegg MSI 7850)

You're talking about the 6990 right? (6970x2)

Yea just scoping bench marks and it seemed the 6990 was pretty on par with the newer 8750. $110 is a pretty fair deal for a newer card though. Happen to know much about the new r9 200s? Would a 260x be overkill for my system?

The 260x is just slightly weaker than the 7850 imo (since the 7850 is very very easily OC'd) and costs more than the 7850

The 7850 would be about somewhere between an 6950 and 6970, not close to an 6990

6990 would be more comparable to an 7970 (non-ghz)
