6990 quadfire

what is the general conseus on quadfire anymore with even the 6990's?
does it still have performance flaws across the board?

lol imagine the blunder of driver problems that amd has with 2 gpus let alone 4, huge mistake imo AMD is not capable of producing reliable drivers for 2 let alone 4 gpus....

Hi im running a a 980x, with 12 gid ddr3 ram, a tb sata drive, dvd burner and cd burner..eyefinity..

I have two 6990's running in crossfire and despite seeing some performance boosts in the benchmarks on various sites, it seems on some games I take a performance hit. Im guessing that while some games may benefit from the second card, its a hot or a miss. Seems like its just an overkill?

despite their supposid support for the card. Is it the drivers or the games lacking the need for it?

I like my radeon, just not sure if nvidia has better sli support or if the tech, at this time, is just too new and needs to be fine tuned on both ends?

I also have my cpu over clocked to support what some thought was a bottleneck? yet after asking around, many felt the 980x even at stock speed was enough to handle the 6990

it's already quad crossfire so I think you should wait for the 7000 series. overclocking them could also help but it will take time
