I was planning on getting a new GFX card in the next few moths and really had my eye on the "Sapphite Toxix Vapor-X 6gb 7970". I was going on newegg every week or so to see if the price fell at all and when I looked today they are suddenly DISCONTINUED

What gives? Does anyone know if the ywere planning on releasing a different version? Or were these some type of special limited edition cards? My second choices are either a 4GB GTX 670/680. But man ireally wanted that 7970.

Ya I know that card was a power hungry volt sucking beast but I could see myself now. using my current GTX 570 for PhysX(OVERKILL) and running that beast with a hefty overclock throwing every Skyrim Mod known to man at it until my 27" 1080p monitor simply exploded from the life like GFX it was being asked to display :bounce:

Anyone know if the will bring them back??

6 gb ??? its way too much unnecessary !!!!!you won't find any additions in the game you mentioned at highest detail over a standard hd 7970 or even a hd 7850.
It should be a wastage of money.Even if you were like in a idea of futureproof you will be like pulling out your hairs out in 1-2 years when new technologies come out , my friend. The vram does not really matters.all matters is the GPU clock /amount of pipelines / CUDAcores / stream processer which differentiate a gpu's price . Otherwise every 2 gb or 1 gb DirectX 11 card would be equally priced - from 5450 to 7850 !!!1 :D

i think you would need 3-4 of these cards to get gpu power able to utilize so many
but then the question is how many monitors with how many MPix you want to feed from these beasts
