6GB RAM installed but 4.95GB Usable

Solution
I'm no expert on tho but I believe its because your system allocates RAM to running system functions, such as booting and running your OS. Could be wrong but I think thats what it does. I have 8GB and I think I have 6.95 or 7 usable or something like that.

Usually this would be due to having an igp for graphics. The hardware will lock down a bit of your memory exclusively for the gpu. If you are using a dedicated gpu only then this shouldn't happen though.

Well in the case of both desktops and laptops only the highest end of systems (Mostly gaming and high end workstations) will you find computers without IGP's.

But anyways since you are using a laptop what I earlier said is more pertinent. Laptops even with dedicated gpu's will use the IGP of the CPU to display the graphics and to increase battery life will only use the dedicated gpu in situations where the performance is necessary or if the laptop is being charged. So basically the memory you have is reserved for the gpu in your cpu. So everything is working as expected.
