I have a 7.1 headset, hyperx cloud stringer 2, however on realtek hd and windows configure i can only hear in front of me, i cant hear behind or to the side, I head whats in front then i see the sound is suppose to come from the back or something and i dont hear it, my headphones just go silent , help!

Your set doesn't require specific drivers, so that answers that question. There's got to be a setup or setting in the Realtek control panel for 7.1. If you don't want to mess with that, I do know that Razer has a free surround setup that works well and you can get it here:

Try to troubleshoot your issue in a bit more detail in the Realtek control panel. Remember that whatever you're going to get is virtualized 7.1 and not true surround sound.

these are my settings and the things circled are the only things i can hear https://imgur.com/a/6VuQX

Yeah, that's not going to work. Realtek is looking for the additional connections to properly output the signals and you've only got what amounts to a stereo plug connected. I'll have to download the newest version of HD manager and see what it does for me to give you a clearer picture. You may have to go the secondary software route to get it to work as desired.

Based on the connection for that headset, he's using a 3.5mm plug. I wasn't aware there was a connection device between the set and the rig as I didn't see any mention of one on their site or with the instructions.
