I just got the razer tiamat 7.1 for my birthday and have been struggling all day with getting good sound from it, I heard that you need a 7.1 soundcard or motherboard that supports 7.1 sound and I looked up my motherboard and it supports it.

My motherboard is a Z87-G45 gaming it sayd it supports 7.1 sound but maybe it's not good enough, should I buy a better soundcard?

I updated my drivers but it didn't do any good, I've heard that this headset is kinda hit and miss with people, some have great sound in them and some have not so great, I should mention that the sound is only bad in the 7.1 mode, it sounds "ok" if I disable 7.1 but I would like to use them to their full extent.

Ah well, it was a gift and I didn't have a headset so they will have to do for now, thanks for the help.

I guess I could, I've been messing around with it all day and gotten somewhat good sound from it while not in 7.1 mode, but when I activate 7.1 there is 0 bass ...

In my realtek audio software I can click the subwoofer icon and the headset plays a sound and let's me know there is bass, but when I start a song or a game there is 0 bass, I don't think it's broken to be honest.

Yeah that was the first thing I did after plugging them in, but that program was rather lackluster, not much to configure at all.

It had a equalizer but turning up the bass there didn't increase it one bit ...
