just wondering if anyone could recommend a sound card that's 7.1 audio and compatible with windows 7 for $50

Odd price range; for under $50, the ASUS Xonar DGX reigns supreme, but its limited to 5.1. The DSX can be found around that price and supports 7.1, but most consider the DGX's output signal superior. The ASUS Xonar DX hovers around $70, but its possible you could find one for cheaper.
