I have a EVGA Nu Audio Pro 7.1 sound card (2 card version) and currently have it linked to an old 5.1 sound system. I've been wanting to make use of the side speakers for some time but before I do, is there a 7.1 setup on the market or should I just get a 2.0 channel pair?

Part 2. Assuming I can't find a 7.1 speaker system are there any brands that make 5.1 and 2.0 variations? This way the speakers will look like the belong together. Example: Steel Series Arena 3 + Arena 9 (unfortunately this setup will not work for me because its a usb-c interface, which would ignore the sound card altogether).

Thanks for the replies.

For best results all speakers in a 7.1 setup should be the same.
Every speaker has a slightly different tonal characteristics. mixing speakers of different brands/types is very hard to make it appearr as if they are all one.
Your brain will pick up the small differences and you lose the full surround effect.
A quick search did not come up with a 7.1 computer set of speakers. So a 5.1 and 2.1matching system may be your best option.
Unless you wish to step up to an amp and speaker system.

Here's something that might be useful for you. I'm thinking of building one of these myself:
