7 inch LCD with HDMI display not working with GOpro

I bought this display to use it as a live-feed display in conjunction with my gopro inside my vehicle, yet it doesn't seem to work. I connect my Gopro to my TV and it displays on my TV. The 7 inch display also works when I connect it to my PC but both of them together do not work...

Does anyone have any idea what is going on? The display is a waveshare 7 inch LCD with hdmi :

and my gopro is Gopro 3 white edition.

My guess is the 800x400 resolution of the screen is not supported by the GoPro. When you hook up to your TV you have a normal (1080p?) resolution. The 800x400 is an unusual resolution that is probably not supported by the GoPro. Check the specs of the GoPro for supported output resolutions.

Hey kanewolf thanks for reply.

I think you maybe be right, is there anyway using some sort of driver or code written program that I can put 1080p resolution onto this 7inch LCD screen? Seeing as it has an HDMI port i dont understand why the native resolution is 800x400, there has to be a way to change it , i really hope there is, I don't want to have to ship this back

I think you just didn't read the specs and made an assumption that because it had an HDMI port it would be compatible. I belive you will never get it to work and should either attempt to get a refund or just eat the cost and move on.
