Hello today I bought a new air cooler for my i7 960 cpu. it idles at around 30c and right now I have 5 tabs open on chrome and it's at like 40c.

Im planning on putting a very heavy load on this cpu ( as much as it can take) I will be running 20 windows of runescape 2007 (old java game not hd), now I want to be running these 24 hours a day. How hot should I let my cpu get if its on 24 hours a day?

Also, I got this cpu for like 50$ so its not like my most prized posession, as long as it works for like another year ill be good.

thanks.

Personally I feel confortable with cpu temps lower that 70ºC, higher can decrease the life span of the cpu, and intel says that 68ºC is the max case temp (at the ihs) for that cpu. So yeah, 70-80 is a bit too hot.
