I decided to try and stream CS:GO because my computer is decent and I feel like it can handle it.
i5 4670k
Nvidia GTX 660
8 GB ram

My concern was my cpu, because I know that CS is a cpu intensive game, and I wasn't sure if it would hold up with the stock cooler. Anyways, I found that, streaming or not, my cpu always reached above 90% usage at all times and that it's temperature (using RealTemp) was always between 70 and 75 degrees Celsius. Streaming made no difference. My concern is that I'm shortening the lifespan by heating it up, as it's idle temp is always around 50 C. Maybe it's a noob concern (still on my first build from a couple years ago). Is there a reason to be concerned?

50c is quite high for idle temps but mid 70s are still considered safe for your cpu and actually expected since you are using stock cooler. cs go is very cpu sensitive game. to lower cpu temps and usage you can limit your fps through console command. type fps_max 120 upgrading to a better cpu cooler will drop temps a great deal and result in a more silent operation. i suggest cm 212 evo , cryorig H7 , thermaright true spirit140 however you must ensure compatibility with your tower first. what is your rest of your harware?

well thats not a great mobo however with an aftermarket cooler a 4.2ghz wont be a difficult achievement and will help a great deal especially with streaming.!
