So, as the title says, i'm going to buy a new gaming pc that'll hopefully last me for the next 2-3 years. I built this pc on pcpartpicker really quickly so your opinions are very welcome. :)
I prioritized the CPU in this build, as i feel it'll give me good performance and headroom for a good while, given that some of the new games are already using 4 cores / 8 threads. The GPU is the weakest link, but i think i can upgrade that easily in the future.
I'm also keeping my old power supply, a Corsair TX 650w, as i'm pretty sure it'll be enough to power this system.

Intel Xeon E3-1230 V3 3.3GHz (3.7GHz Turbo) 8MB Box
Asus H97-PRO Intel H97 SK1150
Corsair Vengeance LP Blue 2x4096MB DDR3 1600Mhz 1.50V
Msi GeForce GTX750 TI TwinFrozr Gaming OC 2GB GDDR5
Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB 64MB SATAIII (6GB/S) - EZEX
Corsair Carbide SPEC-02 Red LED Gaming Case (Window)

Thanks for any help :)

Solution
If it is only for gaming or primarily. Then don't go with a Xeon but a budget i5. If you are overclocking the H97 isn't a good choice. But the Z97.

Have you considered a SSD?

Yes the PSU is fine. :)
Thanks for the reply Joeteoh99.

Why shouldn't i go with a Xeon, in your opinion? I've heard they're basically i7's with similar clock speeds and HT. I think in the long term, it's going to be better for gaming, considering some games are already using the i7 (4 cores, 8 threads) as a recommended system requirement...
I know i can't OC with this CPU and motherboard but i'm honestly not too interested in that as i think Haswell CPU's don't overclock that great...
By going with a slighty better CPU now but weaker GPU, i can easily upgrade my graphics card without too much hassle and not worry about other parts bottlenecking the new card.
Yes, i've considered an SSD and i'll eventually buy one after i upgrade my monitor. But for now, i don't think it's all that necessary...

If you want it to last for many years. Then go with Xeon. But quad core is more than enough. So you are ready to roll. 😉
