Couldn't find anything in my budget that suited me so looking to build for the first time. Will mainly be used for web design, but also want it to run games (Borderlands/GTA etc). Would be great to get some feedback on this because I've mainly chosen the parts from advice from a few friends and reading a lot online. Is there anything I'm lacking or anywhere I could cut costs? I'm aware I don't NEED 750w but chose it because it was a similar price to a lot of 500w power supplies.

Any advice would be great.

Are you going to need peripherals (monitor, mouse, keyboard)? Or do you just need a tower? Note, you can use a regular HD TV as a monitor.

FYI, you had mail in rebates turned on. You system cost before MIR's was almost $900.

Thanks for the reply man. How does that processor measure up to the 4690k. So would you recommend spending less on the cpu to free up money for the graphics?

@Eli, yeah the 700-809 is really for the tower. Are you using that CPU? Most people have been recommending Intel processors, what do you like about that one? Thanks for the advice man

I reduced the CPU, not because I like AMD better, but because in a gaming build, you should always focus on the GPU, not the CPU. Never spend more on the CPU than the GPU in a gaming build. I actually use the i5-4690K, but AMD has the best CPUs for your price range because of Intel's lack of performance $120-$180 CPUs, in which the 8350 dominates in terms of value. Plus with the next generation consoles using 8 cores, companies will start unlocking those extra cores for use in their games. Plus never buy a high-end processor that you cannot overclock, such as the i5-4460, which has a locked multiplier.

For a gaming rig, the gpu affects performance more than CPU, to a point. No matter how high you clocked that 4690k, it would not game better than a locked i5 with an R9 280, when the 4690k was paired with a far weaker R7 260x.

This is why I recommend the FX8350. It is a great CPU for it's price (coming from an Intel fanboy), and can also still be overclocked pretty reliably. Now, AMD did JUST NOW (literally) release 3 new CPUs for around the same price point, so I am interested in seeing those performance stats, but for now I still recommend the 8350. Plus, he was also able to save enough money to get a higher-end GPU. I recommend the 760 from personal experience, in which, paired with an FX-6350, ran Shadow of Mordor Ultra (except ultra textures, useless at 1080P) 50-60FPS, Assassins Creed IV (as unoptimized as it is) at around 40-60FPS, and Sleeping Dogs (with the Ultra Texture Pack), at 50-60FPS. If you have a better card for the price, I would be interested in your opinion.

An i5 4460 is my common pick over FX 8350. Unless you live near a microcenter, I cannot really recommend AMD right now. Vishera is a 2yr old arch, and it's replacement is 1.5yrs out, at least. Roadmaps show as AM3+ being effectively dead, as we are only getting Vishera refreshes into 2015. AMD might surprise us and give us an Excavator based chip on AM3+, but most likely it will be FM2+, just like Steamroller was. If AMD were smart, they would find a way to make Excavator work in AM3+.

Also, because of the price drops of the GTX 700 series because of the 900 series, I changed my list a bit-
