Tell me what you think. I could always choose a weaker CPU and add a stronger GPU, it just depends on what kind of games you play.

Yeah, you'll want to stick with the i5 then. You'd probably notice pretty big fps fluctuations with an i3. You should be able to get medium-high with this GPU too, it's a pretty close match to the 960 or 770.

I like the build in the parts list above. Balanced and would not change a thing. If you wanted you could get a modular PSU and have better cable management but it is not required.

R9 280x is excellent if you are going to upgrade the PSU. It is much faster than the R7 cards and faster than the GTX 950.

A 280x would be slightly faster, but has 1GB less VRAM

Edit: Also, as Turtle pointed out, you would most likely need a more powerful PSU, so some readjusting might be necessary to keep you under $700
