HI everyone
I need an i5 2500k config mainly for mid/high end gaming and cs5 editing.

The problem is that my budget for my config is only 700$ :( and i need this baby to run for at least 3 years(hence not
taking a amd powered desktop)

Please can you give me a config that would suit my budget???

I am on the verge of killing myself as i am really confused!!!!!!

Thanks For Helping!!! :)

can you fill this out.
http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/261222-31-build-advice

depend on what items you need/already got the $700 might just possibly covers it.

i5 2500k is $200, you need at least a P67 to go with it,
thats at least another $120
decent graphic card $150-250

PSU,RAM, HDD are all roughtly 50-60 each.
if you require win7 that another $100
another $100 for monitor
and thats way over the budget

normally $800 would just be enough for a i5 2400 build.
$900 -$1000 is ideal for i5 2500k

There final alteration

given review on bulldozer(fx) are generally poor, most people say its not even faster then the last generation AMD, wouldn't recommand it for future proof,

gerr, SLI is going to be a impossible fit for this budget since it requires a good PSU and motherboard, look at june's $500 build from tomshardware.

Seriously, you are not going to be able to game properly on a 18" monitor.

Cooler Hyper 212+ $26
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835103065

$805. With mail-in rebates you can save $30 so it would be $775 and you get a free game with the 560ti

I'd go with an AMD build than an i5-2500k since you would be sacrificing too much like a good monitor and good GPU just to get into that budget. With the AM3+ motherboard, you can upgrade to the next CPU lined up for AMD which is the Piledriver.

No. That's not true. If that were true then nobody would be buying AMDs. The phenoms were made so that people can overclock lol.

You can play it at HIGH easily. :) Maxing GTA4 is pretty hard to do since it's one of the worst games ever made codewise. Getting it to high will not be a problem :)

Look at this vid
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K5uOnJOcfUc

You can max it probably.

With my config which has a 560ti which is better than a 6870. You will have no problem with any games right now :)

hmm, not really sure. if you mean gaming? I'd probably say at least 3 years. I cannot say it for sure since I don't know how much games would have advanced by then.

If you don't mind going down to medium detail then it would probably last as long as you want it to last.

Good luck then :)! Keep the Phenom II x4. You don't need much CPU power for games. It's the GPU that counts!
