I have just bought a new Radeon 9600xt and i tested it in 3D mark 2001 (not SE) and i got 7000 points.
I compared it on some website and people get at gets a lots of points more than me! My computer: 1.5 GHz, 512 mb SDRAM, radeon 9600xt, winXP.
Is it possible that my card is broken or something?

BTW, how do i run 3D mark 2001 SE with directx 9.0b?

Performence is not only determined by 3D card, but also count on cpu mobo and so on.So there is no surprise u got a low score(of course the vision of 3d mark is too old--even not 2001se?).BTW u can use 3d mark 2001se build 330 or later under Dx9.0.

Truth is somewhere out there!

Unfortunately you have a willamette 1.5Ghz P4 with SDRAM, about the worst P4 combination you can have. If you were to match that card with a better processor and RAM you would get a better score.

Your CPU/Memory is your bottleneck.

I get 10000 points with my "old" Radeon 8500 and my Athlon 1800+ overclocked to 2300+.

So it's time for you to upgrade your CPU/MB/RAM!

I'va made the mistake when I bought my Radeon 8500, I had a P3 700MHz and I didn't got the boost I expected in games and banchmark. So I bought my A7N8X, with DDR RAM and a little 1800+, this boosted my games FPS by at least 50%.
