720p display on a 23 inch monitor

Hi y'all. I'm thinking of buying a 1920 x 1080 monitor to connect to my laptop. (Nvidia GeForce 920m) I need to know, if I lower the resolution on the monitor to 720p (to increase my fps) will it still look okay? The monitor is LG 23MP68VQ. Thank you

Not hugely but noticeable, you'll probably get use to it though but when you go back to 1080p it'll feel so much better.
