Hello forum:
I’m now ready to upgrade my pc and I have several components that I will keep from the current build. I game on a Vizio 32’’ 720p TV and that is fine for me…..No need for 1080p. I would consider myself a casual gamer, but would like to run most current games, I don’t need Ultra graphics but the sweeter the better. My current Amd Phenom IIx4 955 and Gtx 460 seem to run 90% of what I want to play but fail to play the current AAA Titles……
I’m thinking Intel this time around, only for the simple fact the chips seem to run cooler….

Parts I’m going to buy:
CPU: Intel i3-4170
Motherboard: Asus Z87-A
Graphics Card: MSI Gtx 960

What I have:
CPU Cooler: Coolermaster Evo 212
Case: Thermaltake Chaser A31 w/ 6 Noctua Fans
Ram: Corsair XMS3 1333 MHz 8GB (4x2)
SSD: OCZ 60 GB (Boot Drive)
HDD: Western Digital Caviar Black 640 GB
Power Supply: Cooler Master Silent Pro M600 (80+ Bronze Certified)
So I think I really only need those 3 key components….

Feel free to point me in another direction or give me any insight…..
Budget for those 3 components….300? 400? ……I don’t build computers at all really, so I’m not sure how far I can stretch my money

Here is the PC Part Picker (Including what I will keep):

i3s can't be overclocked. So a Z87 motherboard is overkill. Z87 has been replaced by Z97. For an i3 I'd get a H97 or B85 motherboard

I'd get -

CPU: Intel Core i3-4170 3.7GHz Dual-Core Processor ($116.99 @ NCIX US)
Motherboard: ASRock H97 PRO4 ATX LGA1150 Motherboard ($81.89 @ OutletPC)
Memory: G.Skill Ares Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory ($54.89 @ OutletPC)
Video Card: MSI GeForce GTX 960 2GB Video Card ($197.98 @ Newegg)
Total: $451.75

I recommended the SSD because OCZ are not known for their lasting quality and if 60Gb is doing fine for you now 120 should last you a good long while.
