Basically, do I want the slight fuzziness caused by 720P or lower textures on 1080P? Is there different resolutions I should use for specific games (See Bottom)? And should I go with Vista 64 SP2 or Lubuntu?

Solution
That's kind of a personal decision. Myself, I would opt for the higher in-game settings at 720p over low settings at 1080p. But if your monitor is native 1080p, it may be best to stay with 1080p. On a native 720p display, the games will look very good. The image quality loses a bit when a 1080p display has to run in 720p mode, tho.
