Greetings.
I am building a new system for myself, the CPU is the only one left. I know a lot of people don't recommend 7350k because price and have to have Z mobo, but I already have Z mobo so that point is moot. I was aiming for 7600k and keep it for years to come, but I did read Coffee MIGHT come with 1151 socket.
I found a decent priced 7350k here at 120E(135$). The cheapest 7600k I found was at 165E(185$). I missed that bargain and now they are 20E(25$) more.
I mainly play games that use single core and I should be able to clock i3 to 5GHz using AIO so that's enough for me atm.
What I want to know is if it's worth spending @60E(75$) more on 7600k or get the 7350k and wait for Coffee in a few months and upgrade to 6 core i5 or 4 core i3?
I do think the 7350k has a lower resale chance than 7600k, but if I keep it for half a year and lose 20-30E on it, I'm ok.

What's your take on this?

PS: could we speculate the new six core i5 won't clock as high as the current quad core? Because if I wanted a 4GHz hexa, I'd go ryzen...

Thanks.

Solution
The i5 starts to struggle in some of the newest games in action heavy scenery with wide open spaces, etc...

If there is no way to jump straight to 7700K now, it's your call....

(I'm a little skeptical the 8700K is going to outframe a 7700K, truthfully, barring some miraculous overclocking results...)
Would be hard to recommend spending $150 (assuming you can find one for the alleged new price) now, with the plan of spending another $300-ish a few months later, unless you were SURE you could get use from your 7350K or sell it. If you can recoup that expenditure, then replace it with a 7700K or 8800k...

It's not from a retail seller. It's from a guy. He says it's sealed, box and with a 3year warranty at a national seller. I can inspect it on arrival anyway, so if I see used marks I can decline the purchase. It was more expensive, but the ad is up for 3 weeks now, I guess he wants to sell it, thus the discount.
I'm assuming a used 7350k could be sold at @100E in 6 months. It's a decent price imho, even if you don't OC it has 4.2 GHz and MT.
Also if I can upgrade to Coffee, I won't buy i7. I'll stick to a good i5 if those 6 cores can get to 5GHz(doubt) or buy the best quad i3 that can clock the highest.
