Hello everyone.

I have been using FSPassengers for a few days now, and I have some
questions.

First, I want to make a flight from Paris to Moscow in my 737-400. I don't
know for sure, but I think it's possible (non-stop). Max range is
something like 3,000 miles. And the distance from Paris to Moscow is
around 1,000 (this is off the top of my head). Is there a way for me to
see the range of my flight and how much fuel I have and how much will be
needed, etc before departure? I have never seen anything in FS, but maybe
FSPassengers has it.

Second, before landing my copilot (or someone) is screaming out something
like "Oh my god! We are going to crash! I love you, mom!". At least that's
what it sounds like to me. What's up with this? My landings are always
very smooth (perfect according to FSPassengers). I need to know what I'm
doing wrong. It looks bad when I', trying to impress people with my flying
skills. :-D

When you are using your FS9 Flight Planner to compose a flight plan for your
trip, click 'NAVLOG'. This will give you a list of waypoints as well as a
projection of the distance of your trip and an estimation of the fuel you
MAY use. It's a good idea to take the amount of fuel given and add another
1/3 to be used in case of a headwind or diversion which you may encounter.
This NAVLOG can also be found in your 'kneeboard' display if you click the
check mark.

Insofar as your F.O. yelling at you that 'we are going to crash', obviously
he is of that opinion after contemplating the situation of your aircraft,
even though you may think your landings are smooth. I suggest you read the
summary of your flight which is given after you close FSPassengers at the
end to find out where you may have gone wrong. Should this not satisfy you,
access the FSPassengers forum and ask your question there.

I'd really like to know the answer to that.

Many FSs ago, I had an addon that gave automated voice warnings, like
"TERRAIN! PULL UP!" Problem is, it did that even when I was coming in
for a perfectly fine landing. Could never figure out why this was
happening.

Someone else suggested using the flight planner but the fuel consumption
estimates for the planner are way off, and it assumes that you are flying at
cruise speed and altitude from the second you take off to the second you
land. It also does not account for winds. If you do use the flight planner
estimate you want to use at least TWICE the amount of fuel it suggests.

For a 1,000 mile trip I estimate the default FS 737 to need about 18,172 lbs
of fuel with no wind factor. But, to be realistic you also want enough fuel
to get to your alternate airport, compensate for winds, and add 45 minutes
of fuel for a safety margin (45 mins in the default 737 is about 4350 lbs.)
My estimates are based on test flights that I did to find the fuel
consumption of the plane *as simulated in the sim, not for the real plane.*
Your consumption will vary depending on your engine settings and altitude.
