75 hrtz (or higher) monitor

I'm looking for a monitor preferred at around 23 inches with at least 75 hrtz refresh rate and 1080p.
To be used for gaming mostly.

I don't mind a little smaller I guess depending on how expensive my request is (wanting to spend $120-200)

My eyes are going bad and I was recommended to get a monitor with high refresh rate. I also work at my computer, so I spend most of my life on this thing.

refresh rate on lcd panels isnt going to help your eye problems. increasing the size of the monitor while staying at the same resolution will since everything will be "bigger".

all that having a high refresh rate does is make video output look smoother but that is often a highly personal thing since many users cannot tell the difference between 60hz and 120hz.

the only thing remotely similar to what you suggest is that some people (very few actually) are affected by ccfl backlight flicker. these people cannot sit in front of any panel for a period of time due to the discomfort and the solution to the problem is often modding the panel in some way (there was a post on this forums)... if this isnt your problem then ignore this.

suggestion? worry about screen size and resolution. for bad eyes 1920x1080 at 24" should be more than large enough. remember that you dont want an ultra bright backlight nor something too dim.

in your price range you are looking at a tn panel monitor. you have the choice of led or ccfl backlighting but keep in mind cheap led backlighting can show a blue hue (you can adjust this out a bit). but does save you money on your power bill.

viewsonic, dell, asus, acer,samsung, etc.... stay with major brands and read a review on the model you like before you buy. i highly suggest seeing models in person.

ah I guess my doctor isn't familiar with computers lol. *shrugs*

alright I guess i'll just stick with a larger monitor... and save up for a high-end graphics card so my vid card can actually support the monitor size.
