Even at 2560x1440 a GTX1070 should be able to keep the frame rate at or above 75 with a little judicious trimming of the game settings so if you're using a HD display it'll keep up, no problems.
To get the best out of this type of combination I find that turning the vsync option in the Nvidia drivers ( under the 'manage 3d settings' section ) to Adaptive and the ingame Vsync option to off usually works best. As long as the frame rate stays above 60 you'll just get smooth, tear free gaming, below that Vsync will be applied automatically by the video drivers.
