750 EVO vs All other SSDs

I need a 250 gig ssd for my OS and a few programs and then a few games that benefit from SSD boot.

I am currently considering a samsung 750 EVO because it is in the budget storage price range but samsung is conidered a trustworthy brand

Is it worth the money I save instead of an 850 EVO?
Is there another budget option or anything cheaper than the 850 EVO that performs ok?

With SSD's evolving so quickly, it pays to stick with the more current models. The 850 EVO is a good 50% faster in most tests and only costs around $15 more or less. It also comes with a 5-year warranty vs. 3 years for the 750 EVO. I own 3 of the 250GB model, and they've all been great!

Samsung has pretty much cornered the market on SSD's considering performance and quality. The 850's aren't that much more and will probably last longer.

So the 750 performs on the same level as any other budget SSD and the 850 performs much faster regardless of brand association? The 850 is the indisputable winner in the SSD competition?

Actually no, the 850 EVO is just a solid midrange SSD and great value. In Samsung's lineup the entire Pro series is better, as is the Intel 750 - but they are much more expensive.
