Hello guys.
Have a build with 7500f and 4070. I think about 7900xt due to its discount. Playing only games at 1440p, no any other tasks on PC. I have checked before 7500f with 4070 Ti. It was okay in games, even CPU demanding games were okay at 1440p. But not sure about 7900xt. Should i upgrade it? And sell my 4070

are you not actually currently using this system with a 1440p display?
if so, are you seeing any disappointing features in games?

if everything seems to be running fine, what would be the issue that you would be hoping to correct with the upgrade?

are you just concerned about the future?
there will always be better tech and better hardware available throughout the future.
if you just keep upgrading every time a new option is available then you will never get to actually sit back and enjoy your investments for long.

Yes. I have already 2kb165hz monitor. And build with 4070 + 7500f.
I am not really disappointing with performance, except games like star wars jedi which sometimes crappy coz of 12gb vram on 4070. Other games are good.
I do not chase all new models. To make clear my question let me explain the situation. I have bought 4070 in december in China for 687$(in China nvidia more expensive than amd, i mean comparing msrp). So here in Turkmenistan where i live. I can still sell 4070 for 680$.
I found that in China 7900XT for 710$ right now.
I think its great deal to sell 4070, add 30 bucks and buy +8gb vram and faster gpu, isnt it? I think it has point. So my question is, will 7500f handle 7900xt at 1440p?

yes, that would be worth the switch presuming that it would be an easy sale for the 4070.

"handle" isn't quite the appropriate term.
it will be able to run any GPU with proper power supplied.

whether the CPU will able to produce enough frames to max out the RX's available horsepower isn't likely.
but, you will probably be able to totally max out the graphical settings on any game and still possibly get better frame rates than the current RTX.

plus if you do happen to come across a similar better CPU deal any time in the future you will already have a pretty powerful GPU to stick with for some time.

I was thinking about upgrading CPU but. Its Asus A620m AYW motherboard. I cannot go with any x cpu models. Thats why i have started my question with upgrading gpu if no bottleneck.
But maybe even my a620 can handle 7800x3d 100% because it has more vrm than default a620 like msi which is up to 90watt. Maybe asus a620 ayw is up to 120-160watt, but official page doesnt show it. I have even asked their support. But they dont give exact information. Need to find 7800x3d and test it. I saw on youtube that AsRock a620 pro rs, or something like this (i dont remember right name) it is up to 160-180watt and has enough vrm for 7800x3d. But i dont know about my mobo.

i don't mean just finding a better edition of the same series.
i mean actually upgrading the system with a better all-around option.

if you really just plan on sticking with this motherboard for the next few years, you may just want to wait until then for the later editions of all hardware to come along.
but, if it's all just based on this current deal you think you can profit off of; just do it and forget about the CPU.

Okay brother. Got it. Thanks a lot

Hey there,

Wait for a sec. IMO, no, your current CPU is/should be fine for that card at 1440p. At that res the load shifts from CPU to GPU. Being a Zen 4 CPU, it has plenty of gaming chops and can drive any high-end card very well. 6 core and 12 threads are fine for modern AAA gaming. Is it absolutely going to be the most FPS you can get, well, no. The 7800x3d can push some more FPS from your GPU.

As @JohnBonhamsGhost mentioned the mobo can hold you back here

If it were me, I'd be looking at a B650 mobo, with decent vrms to handle a CPU upgrade down the line, if you need it.

Swapping to a 7900xt from a 4070, prob won't be a big jump.

You should not pair a 7800x3d with an A6xx mobo. You need at least a b650 or mid-range X670 to give your CPU a chance to shine.
