Maybe I shouldn't have posted a new thread. This question still has not been thoroughly answered. Can someone confirm a 750ti working in 4k and with what connections? Below is the link to a post similar to mine. I also placed this response there as well.

I have this card as well,The 750 Ti SC EVGA. As the OP mentioned, I also I am trying to run 4k movies, not games (nvidia's website clearly states the 750ti is capable of 4k resolution), on a 4k tv (VIZIO m55-d0).

I actually do get the option in the nvidia panel for 4k resolution (unlike OP) but when I switch the TV to 4k my desktop doesn't fill the whole screen of the tv, there is a black border around the edge of the screen, so the image only takes up half the screen, and if I switch to 1920x1080 the desktop then fills the whole screen.

So I believe RobCrezz is correct, an active adaptor for Display port to HDMI 2.0 may be what is required to achieve 4k output on this card for 4k video (DP++ I believe is necessary for 4k, or as an alternative one can use an active DP to HDMI 2.0 adaptor to achieve 4k at 60hz).

These adaptors are on Amazon and other places for around 28.00 USD, but make sure to check the specs so that you can be sure it supports 4k @ 60hz, that it is an active adaptor, that it is DP 1.2 (750 Ti is DP 1.2) and HDMI 2.0.

Now I can't be sure this will solve my problems as I have not ordered the cord yet, but I will report back when I do. Has anyone else been successful with the 750 Ti in 4k and if so with what connections?

I wonder if the PCIe lane version on our motherboard matters as well as far as 60hz vs 30hz is concerned. Supposedly PCIe 2.0 can support 8GB/s of bandwidth whereas PCIe 3.0 can support 16GB/s of bandwidth. According to wikipedia, which who knows how accurate that is, 4k at 60hz on display port 1.2 requires 12.5GB/s, although PCIe 2.0 would still theoretically work at 4k 30hz because only 6.18GB/s is required. But, if I am not mistaken, most 4k movies are less than 30 fps?

Solution

So I figured out that my TV was displaying my desktop at 4k the whole time. The reason that the desktop didnt fill the whole screen was because I two monitors connected and my comp wasnt smart enough to display one monitor at 1920x1080 and the other at 4k, although if i were to drag an application or a web browser onto the 2nd screen it would display it full screen at 4k.

So in short, yes, the 750ti can display 4k but as far as gaming goes i dont think it would work great.
