750W PSU Strong Enough for SLI?

Hey Tom's! I was wondering if a 750W PSU would be good enough for a dual SLI 770 setup for the future. Is there any reason to get an 850W PSU? Thank you! I plan on overclocking a tad for my CPU and my GPU(s), thank you!

eh, 750w is enough power, but you need to have atleast 2x 6-pin and 2x 8-pin/6+2-pin connectors, and if it is from corsair, stick with the ax, axi, gs, hx, hxv2, tx, and txm series.

No that won't be enough - You'll need something like a 1000W so tha you have room to expand and over clock as well...try out new eggs power calculator....it should give you a good estimate

no no no, a 770 takes 230 W, so thats 460w, plus 84 for the cpu, add 10 for an hdd, 5 for an ssd, a couple for the ram, some for fans, the mobo need some, and the psu has some inefficiencies, but it all totals to about 600 watts.

Which corsair is it? 750 Watts will be fine. Just don't overclock anything if it is the CX, CS or RM 750.

I should have mentioned I used the watt calculator on PCPartpicker, and with dual SLI it came out to be 659W, so I was thinking going over 100 (750W) should be fine. But I mean hey, this is going to be a new build, I could go big lol

Hey Micky, thanks for responding so fast!

I've built a few PC's before so I'm tired of the non modular PSU's lol,
I'm thinking bout going semi/ full (for a good deal). Is XFX a solid company?
I haven't gotten a card or gpu from them, I know seasonic is very reliable.

Also I see you didn't recommend a Corsair PSU, is Corsair not as strong in
their PSU's as compared to their Cases, CPU coolers, Ram, etc?

you are welcome , go with a quality psu with high grade japanese capacitors from seasonic/xfx or any psu from corsairs TX , HX or AX range

xfx is also made by seasonic and has high grade capacitors
Corsair do make quality psu's but The TX , HX or AX range are the best

XFX is better priced than Corsair but the HX 750 should be fine for the SLI setup.

I would only run a minimum of 1000 watts for sli. With an 80+ psu, like http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817171076&cm_re=1000w_power_supply-_-17-171-076-_-Product , you could run the system and still have headroom without streaching the thermals of the 750Watt psu.
