[SOLVED] 75hz monitor says "out of range" when setting to 75hz

Finally got my new monitor, it's an ASUS VP228H, and it's a 75hz monitor. But when I try to crank it up to 75hz, it says "out of range". I think this might be a scam.

Looking at the manual. It appears to be a BS 75Hz monitor. Technically it can do 75Hz but not at 1920x1080. Only up to 1440x900.

Just for the heck of it. Look through your monitor's OSD options to see if there is some sort of OC mode. Also what connection are you using. It may only do 75hz via DisplayPort or HDMI.

Just realized my hdmi cable is version 1.4. I guess i will need a hdmi 2 cable to do 75hz
