75hz or 144hz on GTX 1070

I am low on budget. I am thinking of getting a 144hz monitor or a i5 8600k. what should I do. Should I go with a 144hz monitor and a i5 7600k or a 75hz monitor and i5 8600k

I would get the 6 core 8600K it should last you longer before needing to upgrade.
Unless your just playing twitch shooter games the 144 will not help in regular games.

What resolution are these monitors? Do they have any other notable differences aside from the refresh rate? It would help to know the full system specs and models of the monitors you are looking at, to better determine how much the system might benefit from a high refresh rate screen. I agree that the 8600k will undoubtedly remain relevant longer for gaming than a 7600k though, due to it having 50% more cores.

If it's 1080p go for 144hz. If it's 2k, 75hz. And yes the 8600k is an excellent choice.

Guess that the choice between hrz's are deciding what cpu he wants.It's a budget matter form what i see.
What about the i5 8400 with 144hrz? This cpu is still very capable and can do 3.8 on all cores if you keep it cool enough and even 4ghz on "Z370" motherboards.
