75Hz stutters on LG 34UM68 using Nvidia

Hallo

I recently purchased a LG 34UM68 ultra wide monitor with freesync.
I own an Nvidia 1070 so i know the freesync wouldn't work... I did want the 75Hz however.
Turning freesync on allows me to update the Hz in the Nvidia control panel to 75Hz.

all was looking good.

only problem....
75Hz looks terrible, far worse than 60. testing in games and blurblasters looks awful. frame skipping and general stutters occur, even when my gpu is stating a solid 75Hz

Im kinda tearing my hair out here and have tried to find a conclusive answer everywhere 🙁

I have tried to disable freesync on my monitor and make a custom 75Hz in the Nvidia control panel, but to no prevail !
I am also using a display cable

Please Please does anyone have a solution?

turn off the freesync and try gaming
if stuttering, try vsync / adaptive gsync.
