7600 GT vs x1800 GTO

They are about equal in all the benchmarks. Whats better?

the x1800 i like the hdr and aa rendering at the same time but its 50 bucks more so uh tough choice

If I was to choose a free one, it'd be the X1800 GTO.

But for the extra $50, it's not worth it to me. I voted for the 7600 GT...
At $200, that's an amazing card.

I'd like to see a comparison between the 7600 GT and X850 XT... they're in the same price bracket. It'd be interesting.

Maybe, but the X850XT is an SM2.0 part and I think that significantly undercuts its long term value.

The 7600 GT v X1800 GTO is a tough one. From looking at Firingsquad it seems to be a tight race.

As for less relevant games, they are pretty even in HL2, FC, D3, and Pacific Fighters at "playable" fps, but the 7600 GT takes Lock On and also does better once AA is turned on (e.g. D3, HL2, and FC). But the X1800 GTO is interestingly faster with AA in FEAR.

If price and features being equal, and performance the main equation, I would have to give a slight nod to the 7600GT based on the two sites I have looked at, but with the caveat being if you play BF2 the X1800GTO may be better. (e.g. the only PC game I play right now is BF2... but I am very excited for ET:QWs, so if this was my price range I would seriously look at the 7600 GT).

Will read some more reviews, but looks like my choice here is the 7600 GT.

Its hard for me because i like to play FEAR,BF2,Q4,CoD2. So its like a split decision. =/ Anyone know the overclocking ability other both these?

Depends on your priorities.

If the X850 soundly beats it with AA & AF, it's still the more compelling card in my book...
