7600GT vs X850XT

I'm debating between the same two cards as well. I think by older tech they mean is uses shader model 2.0 instead of 3.0, but I'm not positive.

yeah, that is the case.

I found this article very convincing. http://www.firingsquad.com/hardware/nvidia_geforce_7600_gt_performance/

I think I will get the 7600

I Agree With 7600GT  , The X850XT Perform Same as 7600GT , Better in Some Games Like F.E.A.R. and Half-life 2 and When Using AA and AF ... But 7600GT Support SM 3.0 ... You Cant Exactly Say With One Is Better ,But ... 7600GT Can Be Better in Future Games !

Everything Looks Great and Plays great on the 7600GT.
I can truly say upgrading from an X800XL was worth it.
I wasn't sure at first, but everything compared that I've played or videos that I watch.
This thing makes me believe I am running a blistering top notch card.
The XL is still a top notch card, this is just a few notches above it.

The 7600GT has all the basic feature-set of the 7900, but there have been mods to 'cut it in half' so to say...
And yes it handles 3.0 just fine.
Far Cry thinks so anyway.

check some reviews... that lil 128bit card is a monster at its price, especially its fanless lil brother the 7600GS, which is just lower clock speeds.

the 7600GT will give you around 30fps on max settings in most games... some games will drop to 20, but SLi that card and you get almost 100% performace increase

i want a 7600GTX with 256bit interface

nVidia, you make that card i will give you sexual favors

The reason Nvidia doesn't make a 256 bit would be that it would be too near the performance of a 7800 and cost a lot less so they wouldn't make much money of the highend.

"I ran the F.E.A.R. benchmark today and got an average of 76FPS "

At what res and game quality settings, just out of curiosity? 1280x960, or above that? (With latest drivers, a single 7800GT gets about 60 fps at 1024x768/4xAA/ 16xAF, up from 52 fps with older drivers)

Hey Man ! In Witch Resolution You Got That Record ??
With The 84.21 And New OverClocking I Get 64 Average of 64 Frame and Minimum Of 38 Frame and Maximum 150 Frame in 1024x768 + 4xAA + 16x AF ( Everything Max And W/O SoftShadows )...
I Think You Got That in 1600x1200 or Something

7600gt is was to replace the old 6600gt..and it has 128 bit interface.....it`s quite fast.....
as for the x850xt ..it has 256 bit interface .. and almost double the memory bandwith 35.6Mbps against same 20Mbps 7600gt has
the performance of the 7600gt is impresive but when it cames to high resolutions and AA and AF setings ..the x850xt is faster....
i don`t know about the 7600gt but i used x850xt against same 7800gt...and the performances were quite similar..same games run faster on 7800 same on x850xt...of course i used at least AA4x

7600gt has 12 pixel pipes 5 vertex pipes 128 bit interface
x850xt has 16 pixel pipes 6 vertex pipes 256 bit interface

Yeah ... Yeah ... I Agree With You Man ! But His Cards Are OC To 470/1200 !
I Think He Plays at 1600x1200 ... I Dont Know , My WinFast is OC Lower Than His eVGA ! But I Got About 64 Fram in Average ... Even in 1280x960 The 74 Frame Isnt A Record ... I Think The Records Belongs To 2xAsus 7800GT Dual (4 GPU ) With The Average Of ~100 Frame in 1280x960 ...

ya but in that case you should consider x850pro against 7600gt...aint i right...they have the same pipes...not sure about the bus i think x850 pro is 256 bit

well, that was X850XT on sale on newegg, not the PRO vesrion. I decided to STEP-UP my card with evga to 7600GT. I am second in line, I wonder how long it is going to take now....
