Hi guys,

I was building a pc for gaming only a while ago, then had to stop the process for a while. Back then I bought asus z270 strix but incthe end never purchased the cpu (wanted 7600k). Now when I want to finish the pc, Im left with a choice to either buy 7600k, or buy 8600k and z370 MB. One thing to keep in mind is that I got a really good deal for my z270 so I would have no problem to sell it easily. GPU atm is 1060 strix 6gb (possible upgrade next year), monitor acer predator 1080p 180hz. As said, pc is stricktly for gaming. What do you think, just get a 7600k or sell the mb and get the new gen 8600k?

One more thing, cooling the cpu with ek predator 360

Well it depends, based on benchmarks at this point 7600k provides similar results to 8600k, well 5% at max in curtain games. I would only upgrade If you are planning on streaming or editing or doing any tasks that utilise more than 4 cores then 8600k will give u better performance.
I would not upgrade based on performance/price ratio, at this early stage price for 8600k and z370 seems to be much higher.

So basically if you ready to pay around 100$ extra for 0-5% of performance in gaming then go for it.

If you don't want to spend money on getting an new motherboard stick with the 7600k, if budget isn't an issue get the 8600k, 2 more cores also means 2 more threads which can be useful if you plan on doing anything more than gaming, 8600k has a higher boost clock speed with 2 more cores which means it will preform better for gaming. I would go with the 8600k
