Im getting ryzen 7600x + msi mag b650 tomahawk

Im pretty much out of the loop about the auto oc capabilities, i have read that am5 processors run automatically pretty much balls to the wall already, does this mean specifically when no auto oc or any other actions are taken, the 7000 series will already perform really well, or are they referring specifically to scenarios when auto oc is enabled?

Basically im asking if i should do any tweaking or auto oc or will the gains be pretty marginal at the end (especially as oc'ing can be used as an argument to void warranty afaik). Ive also heard 7000 series temps tend to be pretty high so probably need to tweak something from bios to ease that.

Modern processors basically will turbo boost to near their limits by default. You could try to "overclock", but you'll probably be pushing maybe 100MHz or so which is less than 5% of a speed boost that may not even translate to an equivalent amount of performance.

The days of getting any significant gains from overclocking are long gone. Just leave clock speeds alone on stock.
