Is it worth spending the extra $180 (US) to upgrade from a gtx 770 to a 780?

Update: Using this desktop for gaming at 1080p, so would it be worth "future-proofing" and getting the 780 or saving my money and getting the 770. Sorry for not making my question clear. The 770 is able to play modern games at max settings right?

depends on your needs/desires, but mainly depends on what size monitor you are using, how many monitors you are using and what resolution you have/want

It depends if (what currency you are from) if 180 (what ever it is) is worth an extra roughly 20% increase in performance, if it is to you then why not? Go for it. Damn good card!

If you have the PSU for consider spending a bit more and getting two 770s in SLI, which will stomp a 780.
