Very simple question - my 7700k, while performing benchmarks and stress tests, was maxing at 4.09Ghz when its specifications showed 4.20Ghz. Any thoughts?

Solution
4.2 is base clock for the 7700k. You should be seeing 4.4 across 4 cores when testing.

Check Windows power plans that you haven't lowered maximum cpu power. Check temps causing the cpu to throttle or not turbo boost.

Check bios if you went in there changing things that turbo boost is on.
