considering my mobo is new, high end and supports 7700k
do i need all this power the 8700k offers?
my thoughts? save some money instead of buying a new mobo, buy the 7700k and get a better GPU later.

current specs:
6600k (4.5)
gtx 1070
( gaming only PC)

games that i played seeing my CPU on 100% load and benchmarks proved that my 1070 can do better than this with a more capable CPU, also i hear allot that more upcoming games are going to be better optimized for multithreaded CPU's

sometimes i think that i dont need all this just get a 1080 ti and its all perfect im kinda lost

With 60Hz monitor there is little point getting fps over 60, its just going to cause screen tearing. I would understand it if you had a 1080p 144Hz setup.

Anyway yes a few games do benefit from more than 4 threads and it seems that is the future but only when going for high fps, true I wouldn't buy a 4 core CPU today. The problem with the 7700k is its basically your current CPU with hyperthreading, it seems like an expensive upgrade to just get hyperthreading. If me and I had to upgrade then go big or go home, get the 8700k, at least your getting 2 more cores and hyperthreading but its going to cost you a new motherboard too.

my monitor can overclock to 75hz in some games i do use that .. if it counts for anything in this discussion.

yes i will get 2 more cores and a better CPU but do i need it?
i have been watching allot of benchmarks on gaming with both CPU on 1440p there is almost no difference and no difference at all with 4k getting the 7700k will be less cheaper than the 8700k considering i will be upgrading to 1080 ti soon too.

ya buddy its a good deal 30-50 dollars less than 8700k and also i dont even need a new mobo
wich will save me lets say 300 $
im saying save that and get a 1080 ti later what do you think ?
7700k is enough for 3-5 years from now with 1080ti ?
gaming at 1440p 75hz MAX
considering i get nuts and sometimes uninstall the game when i cant get solid FPS :)
